Artist, and award winning art teacher, Rachel Hoehn grew up in
an artistic family here in Oak Cliff. Her parents encouraged and
supported their children's artistic endeavors and frequently
visited museums and galleries to broaden and inspire their
children's creative spirit.
After graduating from Sunset High, she attended college at
Hendrix College of liberal arts. It was there that her love for
pottery and art history began. After graduating, she continued
to develop her pottery skills by attending classes at Northlake
College.
Now, in her Oak Cliff studio, she is always evolving,
experimenting and creating unique pieces that are both beautiful
and functional. Although she uses many different media in
both her teaching and personal works, she prefers to work
primarily with clay.
This energetic and high-spirited artist has many qualities,
skills and talents... the most enduring is her passion for
teaching. Through her enthusiasm and true love of art, Rachel
has been a great inspiration to countless children in the public
school system. Twice recognized as teacher of the year makes
that evident.
